Cookie Policy

Non-essential cookies are off until you turn them on. This page explains what we use and why.

Draft. This page is a working draft for the preview build and must be reviewed by a lawyer before launch.

What cookies are

Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. Similar technologies, such as local storage, work the same way. In this policy, "cookies" covers all of them.

Our default

When you first visit Social Engine, a consent banner asks for your choice. Non-essential cookies are declined by default. We only set them if you accept them, and you can change your mind at any time.

Essential cookies

These are needed for the site to work and cannot be switched off:

  • Sign-in and session: keep you signed in and protect your account.
  • Security: help prevent fraud and cross-site request forgery.
  • Consent: remember your cookie choice so we do not ask again on every page.

Analytics cookies

If you accept them, we use product analytics to understand how pages and features are used (for example, which steps of ordering people find confusing). We use this to improve the site, not to sell ads. Analytics cookies are not set unless you opt in.

Bot protection

We use Cloudflare Turnstile to block bots on sign-up and other forms. Turnstile may process technical data from your browser to check that you are a person. We treat this as necessary for security.

Changing your choice

You can change your choice at any time through the cookie settings link on the site, or by clearing cookies in your browser. Blocking essential cookies in your browser may stop sign-in and checkout from working.

The full list of cookie names, providers and lifetimes is [Cookie table, to be completed before launch].

Changes

We will update the date at the top of this page when this policy changes.
