Refills and drops: why counts fall and how one-click refills fix it

Why follower and like counts drop, how our one-click refills work inside each tier's window, and the count snapshot habit that makes refills painless.

If you have bought engagement anywhere, you have probably seen a count go up and then come down a little. That is normal, and it is the reason every order on Social Engine comes with a refill window. This article explains why counts drop, how our one-click refills work, and the simple habit of taking a count snapshot that makes the whole process painless.

Why counts drop

Counts change for several reasons, and only some of them have anything to do with an order. It helps to know the difference.

  • Platform clean-ups. Platforms periodically remove accounts or engagement they consider inauthentic. They don't announce when or how, and they can do it at any time. This is the most common cause of a drop after an order.
  • Deactivated accounts. Some accounts get deactivated or deleted by their owners or by the platform, and their follows or likes disappear with them.
  • Ordinary unfollows. Real people unfollow all the time. If your content changes direction or you post less, some of your existing audience may leave.
  • Display delays. Counts on some platforms update with a lag or round large numbers, so a count can look like it moved when it hasn't.

No provider can honestly promise that a platform will never remove anything. What a provider can do is choose sources that tend to hold up, and stand behind the order for a set period. That is what refill windows are for.

How refill windows work

Every tier has a refill window: Standard 30 days, Premium 60 days, Elite 90 days. The window starts when the order completes, not when you place it, so a longer natural delivery doesn't shorten your cover. Higher loyalty tiers add extra days on top, up to 30 more days at the top of the ladder.

Each eligible order in your account shows a countdown to the end of its window. If your count drops while the window is open, you press Refill on the order and tell us the current count. We compare it with what we expect, which is the start count we recorded plus what we delivered, and redeliver the shortfall at no cost.

Behind the scenes, we first use the source's own free refill where it covers the order. When it doesn't, we place a top-up order at our own cost. Either way, you don't pay for the refill and you don't need to open a ticket.

What a refill covers, and what it doesn't

A refill replaces drops in what we delivered. It never redelivers more than the original order, whatever the count says. A hypothetical example makes this clear:

  • Your profile had 2,000 followers when delivery started, and we recorded that start count.
  • You ordered 1,000 followers, so we expect 3,000 after completion.
  • Two weeks later, you see 2,850. That is a shortfall of 150, and pressing Refill redelivers those 150.
  • If instead you saw 1,500, the shortfall against expected is 1,500, but we delivered only 1,000, so a refill tops up at most 1,000. A drop below your original count is not something an order can cover.

These numbers are only an example. The point is that the refill is tied to your order, which is fair to you and to us.

Taking a count snapshot

The single most useful habit is to note your count at two moments: right before you order and right after the order completes. A screenshot works well because it shows the date and the number together.

  1. Before ordering. Screenshot the profile, post or video and note the count. If your count changes a lot day to day, note it at the same time you order.
  2. When delivery starts. We record a start count when the source begins delivery. You'll see it on your order timeline.
  3. At completion. Screenshot again. You now know what your count looked like with the order fully delivered.
  4. During the window. Check every week or so. If you see a drop, press Refill before the countdown ends.

Between your snapshots and the start count on the timeline, a refill is never your word against ours. Everyone is looking at the same numbers.

Two screenshots now save a long conversation later.

Things that can block a refill

  • The window has closed. Once the countdown ends, the order is no longer eligible. Set a reminder if you are likely to forget.
  • The account or post is private, renamed or deleted. We can only deliver to public links. If you changed your username, the old link may no longer work.
  • The count is actually higher. If the drop came from somewhere else and the order's own delivery is intact, there is nothing to refill.
  • The service doesn't support refills. The order page tells you up front.

Refunds are a separate thing

Refills deal with drops after completion. Refunds deal with orders we couldn't finish. If an order is cancelled or completes only partly, the undelivered part is refunded to your wallet automatically, to the cent, and returned to the balance you paid with. You don't need to ask. The full rules are in the Refund and Refill Policy and on the guarantees page.

Reducing drops in the first place

You can't control what platforms remove, but a few choices tend to help:

  • Pick a tier whose source quality and window match how long you need the count to hold. See choosing Standard, Premium or Elite.
  • Use natural delivery so growth arrives gradually alongside real activity.
  • Keep posting. Accounts that keep earning attention also keep gaining real followers, which softens any drop.

If you resell

Resellers get the same refill rules through the Reseller API, including a refill action your panel can call. Tell your clients plainly that drops can happen and that refills cover them inside a window, and ask them for before and after screenshots. Clients who were told the truth up front rarely turn a small drop into a dispute. The reseller playbook has more on support.

Worked examples in this guide are hypothetical and for illustration only. Social platforms set their own rules and can remove engagement at any time; refills cover drops inside your tier's window.
